On 4 and 5 September 2024, KUBO organised the Ultra-Clima® Convention for the fifth time, bringing together growers and owners of Ultra-Clima® greenhouses from all over the world. During GreenTech 2024 in Amsterdam, KUBO previously presented their innovative CO2-negative growing strategy, but after 15 years of innovation with Ultra-Clima®, more ground-breaking developments were the focus of this convention.
This edition was organised in Rotterdam. An opening speech by CEO Wouter Kuiper was followed by a presentation updating customers on new innovations such as AutoPylot, Air Movement, CO2 Negative Cultivation, and Energy Savings. These Smart Growing services offer growers advanced solutions to make their cultivation easier, more efficient and sustainable. These days are of great interest to Ultra Clima® growers. From all over the world, they come together to share Ultra-Clima® knowledge and experiences. During this meeting, they exchange their opinions. This valuable KUBO community provides a unique opportunity for growers and owners worldwide to connect and learn from each other's experiences. In addition to presentations, visits were organised to KUBO's test centre BlueLab, Verkade Climate and HAWE Cultivation Systems.
According to Danny Monté, Greenhouse Growing Expert, these innovations are all about making things easier for the customer: ‘We have actually developed one thing, and that is taking away headaches for the grower. Take AutoPylot, KUBO's autonomous growing system, for example. With it, growers no longer work based on experience and intuition, but also on science and data. Work that used to be done manually is now fully automated.’
This year's annual Ultra-Clima® award was presented to Frenchman Stephane Olivier, in honour of his years of experience and achievements as an Ultra-Clima® grower.
The Ultra-Clima® Convention fits perfectly with KUBO's new slogan ‘For a Growing World’. The focus has been on sustainability and efficiency for years. KUBO aims to help growers achieve more yield with less input so that sustainable growing is accessible and profitable.
